Our August book club read!

In an unnamed South American country, a group of diplomats, business leaders, and an opera singer are taken hostage. The mix of characters is super interesting (and a little bizarre at times).

It took me a few chapters to get into it, but once I did, I really enjoyed it. Lots of big themes throughout; love and connection, language and culture barriers, survival and Stockholm syndrome.

Some parts felt a bit far-fetched, and the ending was a little rushed, but overall would recommend it!
